Candace Cameron Bure prayed a version of the sinner's prayer at age 12 but admits she spent years going through the motions without truly understanding why she needed Jesus. It wasn't until she became a mother that her faith became her own — she found herself asking what she would actually teach her daughter about God, and that question sent her back to Scripture in earnest. A book her brother, actor Kirk Cameron, gave her convicted her about her own pride, and she describes that season as when she truly grasped her need for Christ's forgiveness.
