By his own account, Justin Bieber hit a breaking point in 2014 after years of fame, legal trouble, and public struggles. Staying with Hillsong New York pastor Carl Lentz, he dropped to his knees and, in tears, said he needed Jesus — and was baptized soon after. Lentz later described Bieber as having "a really deep, mature relationship with Jesus." Bieber has spoken candidly about how long the road back was: "It's taken me years to bounce back from all these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits," he said, adding that he wanted to rededicate himself to God because "I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul." He has since moved his church affiliation to Churchome, but continues to speak openly about his faith.
